Why a simple form builder when there are big form platforms?
Professional form services (like Google Forms, Typeform or JotForm) offer full feature sets — online payment, unlimited server storage, advanced reporting — and are still the best choice for real business forms. FormKit doesn't replace them. It's useful when you just want to quickly design what a form, quiz or poll will look like, preview it, or generate a simple standalone HTML version of it, without signing up anywhere.
Everything stays in your browser
The fields, questions and settings for each of these four tools — along with any sample responses you enter for preview purposes — are stored only in this browser's local storage. No form, response or booking is ever sent to a server; if you clear your browser cache or open the page on a different device, that data starts over from scratch.
Does FormKit store my form responses on a server?
No. FormKit runs entirely in your browser and no data is sent to any server. For demonstration purposes, sample responses you submit in preview mode are only stored in that device's local browser storage and are never shared between users or devices. To actually collect responses from different people, host the exported HTML file on a real online form service with a database, or connect it to your own backend.
How do I put the finished form on my own site?
Once you've designed your form, use the "Download form HTML" button to get a complete, standalone file you can upload directly or paste into a page on your own site or WordPress install. This file only has the look and validation of the form — for responses to actually reach you, you need to connect its submit handling to a form-processing service or your own server-side script.
Can I run a real, cheat-proof exam with the quiz maker?
The quiz maker is well suited to practice quizzes, self-assessment and informal in-class tests, since everything runs client-side — meaning the correct answers are visible in the page's code and a technically minded user could see them. For a formal exam, entrance test or job assessment that needs real security, use an online testing service with a dedicated backend.
Where does the poll results chart get its data?
In this page's preview mode, every response you submit (or simulate with the "Add 5 sample responses" button) is collected in your browser's local storage, and the chart is drawn from that local data — this is only for seeing what the final poll would look like. For a real poll shared between multiple people, you need to publish the form on a service with a shared database.
Does the booking tool actually prevent the same slot being booked twice?
In this version, booked appointments are only stored in that one device's browser, so if two people book from two different phones, a real double-booking is not actually prevented — this tool is for designing and testing the look of a booking calendar. For real scheduling with different clients, you need a booking system with a central database.
Add fields, reorder them, mark them required — the live preview updates as you go. When you're done, download the form as a standalone HTML file.

Ten field types — what most forms actually need
From short text and email to multiple choice, multi-select checkboxes and a star rating — these are the field types real forms (sign-ups, contact forms, customer feedback) actually need. Mark any field as required, reorder it or remove it, and see the result immediately in the live preview.
What does the HTML export actually give you?
The "Download form HTML" button builds a complete, standalone file that has only the look and validation of your form — you can upload it to your own site or paste its contents into another page. For responses to actually reach you, you need to connect it to a form-handling service or your own server-side script — this file alone doesn't store anything anywhere.
Build multiple-choice questions with correct answers, take the quiz yourself, and see your score plus a question-by-question review.

What this is good for
This tool suits practice quizzes, self-assessment, a short in-class quiz, or a fun trivia round — something you want to build quickly and try out right away. Because everything runs client-side, the correct answers are visible in the page's code, so it isn't suitable for a formal or job-related exam that needs real security.
How scoring is calculated
Each question is worth a number of points (1 by default, adjustable). The final percentage equals the sum of points for correctly answered questions, divided by the total possible points, times 100.
Build single- or multiple-choice questions, submit a few sample responses, and see the results as a live bar chart.

How a poll differs from the general form builder
The poll maker is built specifically for multiple-choice questions that need to be counted and shown as a chart — like a customer satisfaction survey or a quick opinion poll. Unlike the quiz maker, there's no "correct" answer here — it just counts how many people picked each option.
Where the sample data comes from
Any response you submit in "Preview & submit" mode, or simulate with the "Add 5 random sample responses" button, is stored in this browser's local storage so you can see what the final results chart will look like.
Set your working days, business hours and appointment length — a calendar of open slots is generated automatically for any date.

How open slots are calculated
From opening time to closing time, time slots are generated at the interval of your appointment length. If the chosen date isn't one of your working days, or a slot is already booked, that slot is shown as disabled or booked.
The limits of this version
Booked appointments are stored only in this browser — if two people book from two different devices, a real double-booking of the same hour is not actually prevented. This tool is for designing and testing the look of a booking calendar; for real scheduling with different clients, you need a system with a central database.
